Logan Botanic Garden, close to Port Logan is the country's most exotic garden, where palm trees and plants from the southern hemisphere flourish outdoors. This was the setting for Howie and Lord Summerisle's walk in an orchard. More information
Kirkcudbright - The Wicker Man
Several scenes were filmed in this picturesque harbour town. The man dressed as a horse ran down Police Close past The Tolbooth Arts Centre and Maureen Briggs' Art Gallery was used as The Post Office. More information
Gatehouse of Fleet - The Wicker Man
Several locations around Gatehouse of Fleet. Anwoth Old Kirk and the cottage opposite were the ruined church, schoolhouse and maypole complex. Cally Estate Office was used as the exterior of the Green Man pub. More information
Castle Kennedy - The Wicker Man
The glorious Castle Kennedy Gardens was where the fire dancing took place, and Lochinch Castle was Lord Summerisle's home. More information

This friendly village was the location for the children's chant which was filmed outside the library. Howie met his death after leaving nearby St Ninian's Cave, which can be reached by a very pleasant walk. More information
